Alerts
When you create a new Transactional Email account, we set up some common alerts for you automatically to notify you when interesting things happen with your Transactional Email account (like a large backlog, a poor account reputation, and more).
By default, we'll send these alerts to the contact email address for your account, but you can modify, remove, or add new alerts. For example, you might want other people on your team to get SMS alerts instead of emails for certain types of events.
Go to the Alerts page in your Transactional Email account to manage alerts.
Alert Types
Alert | Description |
---|---|
Poor Reputation |
Notifies you if your account reputation drops to Poor. |
Tag Reputation | Notifies you if any tag's reputation drops below or rises above the thresholds you configure. |
Subaccount Reputation | Notifies you if any subaccount's reputation drops below or rises above the thresholds you configure. |
Webhook Failure | Notifies you if any webhook generates an error when posting events. |
Backlog Size | Notifies you if you exceed your hourly quota and your backlog queue size rises above the thresholds you configure. |
Create an Alert
To create a new alert:
- Go to the Account page after logging in.
- Click Alerts.
- Choose the alert you want to add from the drop-down menu.
- Click Create Alert.
- Choose whether you want to receive alerts via email or SMS.
You can send alerts to account contact email address, the billing email address, or a custom email address. For SMS alerts, Transactional Email can send only to phone numbers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and some Caribbean islands.
Edit an Alert
To edit an alert, follow these steps:
- Go to the Account page after logging in.
- Click Alerts in the top menu.
- Find the alert you want to edit and click the Edit button.
- Make any desired changes and then click the Saved Edits button.
Pause an Alert
You can also pause alerts instead of deleting them entirely. While an alert is paused, Transactional Email will not send you email notifications for that alert.
To pause an alert:
- Go to the Account page after logging in.
- Click Alerts.
- Find the alert you'd like to pause and toggle the alert Off.
- Toggle the alert back On when you're ready to receive notification emails again.
Delete an Alert
To delete an alert, follow these steps:
- Go to the Account page after logging in.
- Click Alerts.
- From the drop-down menu, choose Delete.
View Sent Alerts
Transactional Email keeps a brief log of recent alerts, including the SMS number or email address where we sent the alert, the alert type, and the date and time it was sent.
All information used to trigger alerts are pulled once every hour with the exception of webhook alerts which are pushed to you in near real-time, and tag reputation which we look at once a day.
